- Steve Lyons : Loch Ness 10/01/08 → 10/02/13
An evolving and ephemeral installation that explores aspects of image construction while exposing its pitfalls. By way of a three-dimensional translation of an archival photo of Loch Ness monster hunters, Lyons invests in the mimetic, performative, and pseudo-scientific recreation of the controversy. Using found materials and documentary footage, he shakes up our trust in the visual.
Biography
Steve Lyons is an artist and writer based in Montreal. He received his BFA in Studio Art from the University of Western Ontario and is currently pursuing an MA in Art History at Concordia University. He was recently included in the 2009 Windsor Biennial at the Art Gallery of Windsor, and has upcoming exhibitions at Gallery 44 (Toronto) and Artspace (Peterborough).
